Even Obama’s Death Squad Doesn’t Like Him

The Huffington Post reports on a new book ostensibly written by one of the Navy SEALs involved in the raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound in Pakistan last year. The author’s account of what took place is radically different from the B-grade action flick agitprop the Obama regime spewed across the newswires. Apparently there was no big firefight, bin Laden wasn’t armed and a SEAL had already shot bin Laden in the head before he was even visually identified. The author claims bin Laden may have still been alive, describing him as twitching and convulsing, before he and a colleague fulfilled their role as death squad for the state, shooting bin Laden a couple more times as his women and children wept nearby.

The author writes: “The raid was being reported like a bad action movie. At first, it was funny because it was so wrong.” Yet prior to the mission the same author jokes about how he and his fellow compatriots ruminated over which actors would play them in the inevitable Hollywood re-enactment of the events that were about to unfold. And they had no illusions that what they were doing would be manipulated and exploited as political fodder: “…there was no doubt in anybody’s mind that he [Obama] would take all the political credit for this too.” The politicos get to live in a Hollywoodesque fantasyland and so do their killers. And these people are here to protect “us”?

In another stroke of disturbing banality, the SEAL remarks that “none of us were huge fans of Obama. We respected him as the commander in chief of the military and for giving us the green light on the mission.” Who the master of the state brutalizers is, is really of no concern to them. They serve the imposition of power by aggression that is the state, embodied in the high office of the “chief”. The actual leader is just a caricature for this state power.

Think I’m exaggerating? Well, the author states plainly that “we all knew the deal. We were tools in the toolbox…Regardless of the politics that would come along with it, the end result was what we all wanted.” They’re just tools, you see. Politics, law, morality, decency is of no concern once that “green light” is given. The godhead of the state has spoken. His decree becomes law, becomes morality, becomes just… so long as “the end result was what we all wanted”.

But these people are just protecting us, right?
